Its been a busy week already and its only Tuesday. I have been to Auburn for a conference this week and really enjoyed it. Also, while in Auburn I got to visit with the Hand's. Ginny babysat me and my brother when we were little and grew up in Bolton. I went over and ate dinner and visited with her kids who are in 9th, 8th and 6th grade. Talk about making you feel old. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed catching up.

We also have a big event in the family this weekend. Our cousin is getting married. He is marrying a sweet young lady who is a perfect fit. I enjoy going to weddings and can't wait to kick off our official wedding season. We have three in March so I will provide pictures and updates.

Its hard to believe that it is March 3. I will be 28 weeks tomorrow. That means 12 weeks left!!! The baby has been very active lately. I will be going to back to the doctor in two weeks for my glucose test and then for a 4-d ultrasound (just for fun). After that visit I will start going every two weeks.

Busy Weekend

We had a busy but fun weekend. My parents came over to visit this weekend. Friday night I decided I wanted to go out and eat at the "grocery store". I had heard many people talk about what good food was at Whole Foods and I wanted to try it. So we set off the grocery store. It was good and it was an adventure. I am not a cook by any means and food is not something that impresses me...but I will take a field trip there again.

Saturday, Mom, Dad and myself headed out to do so bargain shopping. Mom is redoing the bathroom updstairs and wanted to look for a specific peice of furniture. We had some excitement on the way. As we were cruising down I-459 a car starting swerving and lost control and decided to head towards the woods at 70mph. The girl driving did an wonderful job parking the car between two trees. I was amazed that she did not flip, or was not hurt at all. However, he car did not fair so well.

We dropped Dad off later that day and Mom and I did some shopping. We had some friends over for dinner. Jeremy made spaghetti and I (yes, I did help) made a strawberry shortcake. It was all delicous.

Sunday was a day to recoup. Mom and Dad left and Jeremy and I and the cat took a nap. Cleaning was taken care of and I am sitting down getting ready for a week of work and school. I did catch a picture of the cat, he took a few more naps than the rest of us....I think this sums up the day.

Baby Update...

Today I went for a routine doctor's visit. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow. Everything is still moving along just as it should be. I am right on track. I am measuring where I should be (yep, the tape measure again) just right under my ribs...explains the difficulty to breath every once in a while.

Quick update on the stats in case anyone is trying to keep up. Heartbeat was at 140 today and the baby was moving all around while the doctor was measuring. I am still on schedule for June 1st. The interesting thing here lately is that Jeremy and I both have different ideas on what the baby is. Neither of us have gut feeling, but we do not agree on what it is. I am scheduled for my glucose check in 4 weeks. After that I start going every two weeks. Wow, that means its getting closer.

Valentine's

Valentine's is something Jeremy and I really never made a big deal of. We have not been the couple who makes sure we go out on Valentine's, usually a card will suffice. In our nine years together I have gotten flowers from Jeremy twice. Which is fine with me, they die shortly afterwards....I prefer more creative gifts....and he usually pulls through on those.

This year he out did himself. If there is one thing I love to indulge myself in, that is a massage. I think my grandmothers spoiled me by rubbing my back when I was little and I never got over it. This year, being that I am having difficulty reaching my toes to paint them (you know its bad, when your husband tells you that you need to paint them!!!) and I love a message he got me a day at the spa!!! So tomorrow, I am going to take my mental health break and pamper myself with a mani/pedi/facial and massage.

Now I didn't forget him. I love to shop for cards and found one very fitting for the time right now. I also cooked. It was edible and no one went to the hospital with food poisoning. I made Thai Noodles once with chicken and then with shrimp. I was proud of myself when Jeremy asked if I could make it again. The kitchen is still in one piece and I did not burn it down....I would say mission accomplished.

Pregnancy Humor

I shouldn't post this, but I found it quite hilarious in the line of strange science experiments that my body has been going through.

Heartburn was back yesterday, my tummy was tighter than it has been....EVER...and not in a six pack, wow you have been working out way. As I went to bed, Jeremy asked me if I was okay. I replied "NO! my stomach and sides are stretching, I have heartburn and it is hard to breath!!! I rolled over and went to bed.

2:38 AM - I wake up in extremely pain and cannot move. My stomach has cramped up, I have pain all over. Being the big tough girl I am, I try to roll over and get up....not happening. I try again. Not happening. Now I should let you know I have a very high pain tolerance, but this was ridiculous. I thought to myself....I am going into labor....I can't do this, I am only 25 weeks...no that is not it! So I woke Jeremy up.

Jeremy kindly rolled me over (yes, rolled me over) and helped me sit up. I walked around, but still pain. I got back in the bed and decided to prop up. The pain eased....good no labor....I sat there for another few minutes and things were good. Turns out that my panic labor was a horrible attack of gas!!!

Let the science experience continue.....

I think I met myself the other day

Busy seems to by the state I am staying in these days. Between work, school and well that is about all I have time for and feel like I am meeting myself in the road. My course load at UAB has increased slightly. I am taking 12 hours this semester and will add one more in May making it a grand total of 15 semester hours by May 29th!!!! I think I am insane. Work is extremely busy the second semester. Any teacher will tell you that the first semester is like an uphill climb and then second semester is like roll downhill until you hit the wall.

I keep looking at it as a day by day thing and get things checked off one at time. Someone asked me when I was going to start on the nursery. I told them, May 29th...when I am done with my office! Just kidding..... then again, maybe not.

I am going back to the doctor on Tuesday so I will have an update on how things are going. Until then....

Walking is Easy....Now

Not much going on in the Hutchinson House lately, just the same ins and outs of our daily routine. Even the cat is just been plain boring here lately. I did manage to catch him squeezing into the sink in our bathroom last night. It was rather entertaining to watch. he had to make several passes to figure out which way would work to fiit into it. He only stayed a few minutes, because he was "overflowing" the sink. Needless to say, he has outgrown that sink and needs to stick to the one he can comfortly fit in.

Speaking of growing, I am growing day by day. I seem to be reaching the stage where people are realizing that I am pregnant and just haven't gained a bunch of weight in my stomach.

As most of you know I teach a precious group of students. I have one student who is very excited about my pregnancy, she can't wait for the baby to get here. She asks me at least once a week....is the baby going to be here in two weeks? Well the other day we were in our kitchen at school and she looked at me and smiled and said "you are doing so good! You are walking great too! Its not hard to walk is it?" I just smiled and told her that I was doing great, walking was easy right now, but later on I might need her help in the room. That was a fitting answer. She left and I cracked up! It was priceless.
