Baby Steps

In ALL the pregnancy books there is always some blurb on how to handle pets and new babies. For the past few days Meow Meow has been checking things out.

Here he is trying out the view from underneath the crib. He would hang out there while I worked in the room.

Also, Meow Meow has a buddy, Frog Man. I am guessing that he thought Frog Man needed to check things out as well.
We found the frog in the same spot as the cat today.
After his sleeping and hanging out underneath the crib we would catch him making a loop and sniffing things out. He does this about every 20 - 30 minutes. I think he is adjusting well to being kicked out of "his room".

Also, I have made progress in the nursery. I got a chance to organize and sort things, really just play and see how I wanted to set it up. We still have to move the furniture around, add the bed skirt and curtains and hang a few things on the wall, but things are looking much better.

He are some updated pictures.

What the Heck Happened !?!?!

So I was cruising old post and came upon this picture from the end January! Holy Cow.....and I thought I was preggo then....what was I thinking!

Well here is the latest. This was taken Thursday ( a sneak attack)at Special Olympics while I was not looking, but I think it shows just how much I have grown....gotta love that word. It is the perfect preggo post. Hand on hip, cocked back with my other arm resting, yes resting on the top of my belly. WOW!!!

Lets Make it Interesting

Since we are waiting and going to be surprised with Baby Hutchinson, lets have some fun. I am starting a pool. Leave a comment with what you think the sex, weight, height and date of birth will be. I will create a chart and post it. You only get one guess so make it count.
I am thinking about being generous and even throwing in a nice prize for the winner!!!
To help all my type A personalities out there here are a few stats.....
Heartbeat....steady at 155-160 each doctor's visit except for three where it dropped to 140.
I am carrying low and side to side.
I have craved fruit more than anything else. Cantaloupe, Strawberries and Apples are a staple in our fridge. As most of your know I am a junk food junkie!
Be glad to answer any other strange questions you may have.
Have fun guessing!!!!

Busy Weekend

Busy was the word for this weekend! On Saturday, Jeremy cooked 60 lbs of crawfish with all the fixin'. It was delicious, the corn, potatoes, and mushrooms. I heard the crawfish were as well, but I stay clear of those little suckers. The weather held out and it was such a nice evening. Can't wait to do it again next year.

I also spent some time organizing and straightening the baby's room. It is beginning to shape up. We are going to get a chair and a few things to help organize the closet, as well as a few baskets for odds and ends. Slowly, but surely things are coming together.

It has been nice NOT to have to sit at the computer ALL day on Sunday and work on stuff for my Master's. That is what I have done each Sunday since January. I have pretty much wrapped things up and only have a few things left!!!! If I could inset the Hallelujah Chorus right here I would!!!

On a fun note, Jeremy and I met our friend, Amanda this afternoon to take a few maternity pictures. We went to the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. The weather held out for us and we had a blast. Neither of the three of us had ever been to the Botanical Gardens before and were very impressed with it. I found it funny at the questions we were asking each other. I really think we are nerds and should take a field trip back to find out more. I can't wait to see the pictures. Oh and by the way....Jeremy was a great sport. He never once complained and even smiled for a few pictures. Thanks Amanda!

My Surprise Today!!!!

I came home today to a wonderful surprise...the nursery was set up. Well the crib was up, changing table moved up from the basement and all the goodies I left on the dining room table after going through them last night were in the nursery!!! Jeremy and a guy from work did all this today.

Several baskets full of goodies, diaper cake and the tub, we still have some setting up to do, but this is progress!

Our changing table/chest of drawers and all our diapers and wipes!!!

My super cute shelf that mom and I found, Jeremy even put all the stuffed animals on it. He also loaded the crib up with other odds and ends (sheets, blankets, etc)

Another vieew of the room....we still have a ways to go, but as of this morning it had my desk and computer in it. This is a huge improvement.

He even hung the clothes up!!! We still have some cleaning out to do in here.

Also, for my birthday I got this piece of furniture for our TV at United Textiles in Bessemer. It has been sitting in the Blazer for 2 weeks. It was all set up when I got home today.

And where am I going to finish all my papers....lets just say we will not be having any dinner parties for the next few weeks.....I am currently located at the dining room table. Its only temporary until the basement is finished.
Jeremy did a great job and really surprised me today. It was so nice to come home and all that put together and up. He also put together a stroller I got this weekend. It took two minutes at the most (Robert and Cammie) and it is awesome. We have already tried the speakers out. I can't wait to really try it out! He also put the car seat base in the car....I think he is nesting. After the amount of time it took, I understand why!
Needless to say, it was a wonderful surprise to have all of that done and I don't have to worry about it anymore!

Amanda had the cutest ducks and I loved the daisy's.
Opening gifts....apparently something was funny ?

We played a game where Mom, Mollie, Barbara and Sandra had to draw a baby on a plate above their heads. Wow !!! Lets just hope everyone sticks to their day job!

Baby Showers Everywhere!!!!

Let the Baby Showers begin. Since Thursday I have had two of the sweetest showers by the sweetest group of people.

On Thursday, my students and students aides gave me a shower. I was also surpised by my mom and two aunts who tagged along for the ride. I had no idea they woul dbe there, so the look on my face was priceless. We had delcious cake and goodies to eat, as well as a wish box. Each student person there had written down their wish from the baby. Some were sweet, some were helpful and some were halrious, but they all were very meaningful.

I was blessed to have such a wonderful shower and have a great group of kids and adults that I get to work with each day.
On Saturday, I had another shower in Mississippi. I am still in shock over the generosity of everyone that came. Baby Hutchinson will not be needing much of anything. Now only he/she mother needs to figure out how to use most of it!!! The Shower was given by four of my friends from high school (which we didn't get a picutre, but I am going to substiute our most recent.)
They had wonderful food and drink and I really enjoyed visiting with everyone! I will post picutres from it, when someone sends them to me (I didn't take a camera)
Thanks to everyone who came and for everything. We really appreciate it!!!

Take 'n Easy for a Few

The doctor's grounded me until Monday....I woke up this morning with a slight backache, no biggie, its been like that for a few days, and started to get ready for work. While in the process ( and it has become a process lately) I got a nice pain in my belly. It lasted a while and went away. No biggie again, remember my story from a while back.....false labor attack, just thought it was that. Well I had a few more, they each lasted a little longer and did I say they hurt like.....well anyone who wants to have a child without drugs needs to be shot!!!! I had 6 of these. Mom told me to call the doctor and they told me to come on in.

Turns out I was having contractions. They said I had been over doing it and needed to take it easy. I really would not call walking around all day Monday on a field trip, going to our work site w/ the kids Tuesday and just standind a good part of the over doing? Plus, my classes at UAB. So I am grounded until Monday. Daytime Television here I come!!!!

Life of a Cat

Hanging out with Jeremy on the couch.

Its hard work, but the cat managed to hold down my chair today. He swapped sides every hour or two.

Under the table is another spot we can find him.

If I am not paying him enough attention, He will jump on the desk, then get in my lap, which ends all productivity. He settled for watching what was going on today.

This is a normal day. Today he took it to the extreme. What a life!!!

One more thing....I once heard that cats can sleep up to 23 hours a day.... I think Meow Meow accomplished this today.
