You Hungry Yet??

Saturday morning breakfast at our house since Jeremy and I were married has been a big breakfast.  We   used to sleep in and we he would get up and cook a wonderful breakfast.  For those of you who know me well, you know that people seriously worry about me in the kitchen.

Today was not different.  Amelia woke up at 7:00 AM (never did I think I would be glad to sleep to 7 on a Saturday) and we hit the ground.   The discussion of what was for breakfast began something like this  "you want pancakes?  I don't care...Do you want pancakes???  You decide (I had not had any caffinee)  Jeremy began scrounging around in the pantry and I hear this "Ooh....This is what we are having!!!"   I should have looked because my response would have been much more enthusiatic.

Now I can seriously eat my weight in these, it was the highlight of our trip to NOLA back in November for Jeremy's 30th.   The process for making these little joker's however can be slightly messy.....just watch.

First you have to roll it in lots and lots of flour.

Of course Amelia needed to practice.

Then you make little round circle beignets.  We prefer to use a glass...since we are SO professional an all that good stuff.

Next, you pick it and carefully walk it over to the grease....yes this recipe is listed in this month's addition of healthy cooking.

Now it gets a little tricky here.   As you can only imagine, Jeremy is trying to make breakfast, Amelia is entertaintained with some flour on her high chair tray and crazy me is taking pictures of everything because I have yet to try out this setting on my camera.

The little beignets only have stay in the oil/grease for like 30 seconds.  Its a fast speedy and hot process.  I mean like spitting, popping, make you say ugly words when it hits you hot.   What do I want to do....get right up in there and get a picture, because I have planned this post in my head when I saw the beignet box.   This is the best beignet in the pot shot I have because my husband...who is the cook, moved me out the way....very politely

I may not be able to finish this I am getting hungry again...

We top them with powdered sugar.  I used this gadget....not sure what it is.  Its old, it was Jeremy's Granny's  but he borrowed it.   It sprinkles the sugar perfectly!!!

Oh... someone else was PUMPED about the powder sugar they got to taste.

Seriously who couldn't make themselves sick on these....this was my plate.  No just kidding, okay so maybe not...

Even Meow wanted in on the action.

Breakfast was delicious, as you can tell.  The Beignet's did not stay on the plate long.   It took quite a while to clean the kitchen but man it is sooo worth it.

I know your hungry now....

We call 'em "Chucks"

We've spent the last week becoming tecnologically inclined.  We get to talk and see all our grandparents almost every night through Skype!!!

Amelia is becoming quite handy with her computer skills....this is aout 3 seconds before she completely LOCKED up my computer!!!   She really, really wanted to see her Granny D.

Can you guess where we went to this weekend??? Yep, Mississippi.  Kalee was having a baby shower so we made the trip.  Beside gettting to see everyone at the shower, Kalee, Amanda Mary Beth,Susan and myself planned on getting together for dinner.   We had a wonderful time.   We ate, and ate, and ate.   We always get a group picture.   This is #4 in a series on 10.   Thiscaptures us at or best.

Susan is just smiling, I think Me and Kalee we carrying on a conversation, MB was READY!!!  And I hope Amanda got whatever was on her shirt.

This is much better!!!!  Except the wind was blowing....

We all went in together for Kalee's gift and got her the necessities for having a baby.   However, we wanted to do something special.   While grabbing bibs I noticed all the bibs with "Grandma loves me"  "so and so loves me"   Well, Kalee's Mom just got a jam up Monogram Machine "Millie" and we decided o get creative.

She Made Baby Rongey personalized bibs....One with each of our names on them and then cute saying like "If you think I am cute....you sould see my KAMPS" (Kalee, Amanda, MB, Paige and Susan)

They were PRECIOUS!!!

We made it back just in time to catch the game....We dresses Amelia in her "Who Dat" pj's and she drank her milk and caught the first half in hr high chair in the den....

Sometime you just have to make exceptions.

Speaking of precious.....Priss is increasing her shoe wardrobe.  She is a proud owner of "Chucks"

Yes, they make the Converse All-Stars in teeny-tiny baby sizes and in all kinds of colors.....uh oh!!!!

A girl can never have too many shoes......or purses.   We are still working on Daddy, but he is coming around to this idea.

So I will leave you with one of my favorite photos of the past few days.....It's my little lumberjack on the attack!!!

Look out...we are on the move!!!!

Its been a BIG week around here....

We got new big girl shoes.

And are learning to eat "snacks"

Those little fingers are working so hard.

Jeremy has HD now....he is enjoying it.

We cleaned and reorganized Amelia's closet. See I told you I LOVED and organized closet.  She enjoyed the storage bin and her boot.

Amelia learned about pallets on the floor...

and then what is under the coffee table....as well as the phrase "NO!"

This, however is her response.....

Yep...that's right....TROUBLE!!!

It was just down right tropical....

and with the warmer temps here the past few days I was inspired at Target last night....I bought two swimsuits!!!

Not for me....we haven't even crossed that bridge and really DO NOT want to thnk about it.   I bought two for Amelia, see rolls are actually cute on her, mommy.....not so much!!!

So in the whole "you have a little girl, you can play dress up with her"   that is what we did this morning.   I am sure I will pay for this this later in life.

So without further ado......I present Amelia in her spring/summer swimsuit collection.

The top is a little tight....okay we had to pull with all our might to get it over that head.  We are having to take this one back and upgrade several sizes so it will wearable for summer.....but for $9.99 I couldn't resist.

I mean ruffles on this booty....c'mon

and the mobility factor...

our next suit is a fabulous yellow and white modest one piece...

a much better fit on this one, we will be keeping it.

And in other news, I am not one to toot my own horn, but I was thrilled  and surprised to recieve the following honor yesterday at school.   Click Jacksonville State Teacher Hall of Fame  and  JSU Hall of Fame Article to read more.

Baby in a Box

After an extended stay for what was supoosed to be a short trip to Bolton for New Years and a hunting trip we are back home.   We are unpacking and getting ready to go back to work and school....well Amelia and myself are.    We enjoyed gettting to spend some extra time with family and getting to see everyone...even if Jeremy was in the hospital.

Speaking of...He is doing much better.   He is getting around well and feels good.   We are really glad we caught this and were able to have the surgery over in Mississippi and have help with Amelia.

When we first arrived Amelia changed into her pj's and had some QT time with Otis....this is the most laid back cat in the world. Either that or he is sooo glad to be back in the house.  See Otis was banned from house for peeing in Mom's drier, not once, but twice.   It has taken him 4 years and some really hard headed children who accidently leave the door open and let him "sneak" in to return back into the house.   I think he is quite happy.

John, Gracie, and Douglas came over as well.   Amelia and Douglas played and played all day on Friday and Saturday.

As for toys and playing, we even found another use for this storage crate.   Hours of entertainment!!!

Mollie has been in Chile studying abroad (if that is what you want to call it)  She is having a blast.   Mom and Dad have joined the technological revolution and gotten Skype.   We have been able to talk to her every night and keep with how things are going....

We also have gotten Skype so they can keep up with what Priss is doing....She crawled to computer the other day.   I think they enjoyed that!

There is no shortage of animals around our homes.   This is Maddie, Taylor's dog.   They are around the same age.   Maddie is just a few months older than Amelia.   As the fam was watching the game Thursday night Amelia spotted Maddie and did not take her eyes off her.

We went over and sat down...she started giggling uncontrollaby.   Maddie licked her hand....Amelia laughed harded...Maddie licked faster.   It was the funniest thing.   Maddie finally got a face shot.   Amelia squealed and began giggling again.   I think her and Maddie and going to be good friends.

And in other animal news....I think Meow has missed us.   Jeremy hadn't been on the couch 2 minutes and Meow came to join him.   Nothing makes you feel better than some kitty love when your sick.

And I leave you with one of my favorite pictures I have taken here lately.   I really think she is quite precious and sweet...but oh the little personality we are developing!

We're Outta Here!!!

Update on Jeremy

We started the New Year off with a bang!  We came back to Mississippi for Jeremy and a friend to go hunting over the New Year Holiday and spend some time with family before we went back to work.  The trip was so nice and relaxing....until Saturday night.

Jeremy began to have stomach pains...the stomach pains were not going away and not getting any better.   We decided that after 3 hours of hurting it was time to get it checked out.   Luckily Robert and Cammie were at the house and came with us to the hosital, they both work in the ER, so they helped  move us on through.

The drs. had decided that Jeremy it was appendisitis, but wanted to do a CT to make sure.   It turned out to be scar tissure crimping his intestine and bowel from a surgery he had when he was a baby.   He had surgery to scrape the scar tissue at 4:30 Sunday morning and we have been camping out here since then.

He is feeling much better today.  He is up and walking around and we are hoping to get to go home soon.

Thanks to everyone who has visited and checked on us.   It has been a big help.
