Nursery Update
Nothing like finishing the nursery after the baby gets here....but that is what I or should I say my wonderful sister did.
Before we could finish saying " its a boy" she was saying "give me your card!"
We had talked about what to do for either gender so she was off.
Here is the final result ....and seriously everyone needs a sister a great as mine
By the way my "a" fell just before the pics...
1 Week
Boy, what a difference a week has made. We are still alive and well in the Hutchinson household and working our way slowly back into our routine of the new normalcy. Amelia is back from spending a week with grandparents (bless her heart she is back with mom and dad at bootcamp!) which we couldn't have been more thankful for, and Bennett is settling in nicely to a routine of eat, sleep, poop...repeat!
Honestly, it has been much easier adjusting to life with two kids than it was with the first one. I think because I know what to expect. I am also doing much better recovering from the c-section this time. I think my insides were placed nicely back inside instead of shoved.
We have been so thankful for all the help this past week and the help that is still coming in. I am still not able to drive until next Monday, so those little errands to pick up things and people volunteering have been wonderful. We have also been showered with gifts for Bennett and food.
I have tried to snag a a few pictures of our first week home and how things are going, but failed miserably so here are just a few randoms I have
Leaving to go home
Not sure about the car seat at first...but loved it once he got in the car.
Amelia, Bennett and Mom
Family of Four...and our first photo....this was the best we got. We will keep practicing
Amelia holding Bennett. She keeps telling him "It's Okay"....hmmmm
Sleeping.....he does a lot of this. And check out all that hair!!!

Trial Run...
If you don't live in the town of Bolton or near, you might not have gotten the Bat Signal the other night, but we had a nice little trial run with Baby Hutchinson and his/her arrival.
In a nutshell I need to slow my rear down and take it easy!!! I really didn't realize how much I had done that day until I really sat down and thought about it...so here is the rundown...
I got up Thursday morning and dropped Amelia off at school and went to spin like I have been doing, left there and went to get my tag renewed....last day of the month, perfect time to go right???? Decided I needed to finally paint the beside table for the nursery...got the table gathered supplies and while in Clinton, decided to pick up little bit b/c she has had this nasty cough for about week that wouldn't go away. Schedule her a doctors appointment and headed that way. Got her Priss taken care of (which is great b/c she sounds terrible and we cashed in the antibiotic for what the Dr. said was the beginning of Bronchitis yesterday) and stopped by the grocery store to get stuff to make cake pops for Priss to take to school on Friday for her birthday!
As I was pushing the cart I noticed that I was a having a few contractions, nothing major, I mean hello....its the giant car buggie with a 34 lbs kid in it and groceries!!! Oh did I mention I had to sprint to car carrying Priss in the rain from the doctors office. Yeah....things were not looking up. Anyway, get home and start making the cake pops. Contractions start getting harder and harder and closer together. I sit down for a while, that helps some but they are still coming just at 10 -15 minute intervals instead of the 5 when I stand up. This goes on for over two hours....I am all about waiting it out. I finally decided to call the Dr after taking a nice warm bath....and still having them.
Guess what they told me....."why don't you come on in....we want to monitor you through the night and see whats going on" Interpretation....if they don't stop you get to have a baby. If they do stop you get a night with no sleep.
After situating Amelia, getting gas, going back to the house to get my purse we finally got to the hospital. Long story short, the contractions slacked off around midnight and I finally relaxed around the wee hour of 2 am after something to help me sleep. Apparently I had a few more throughout the night, but I could tell you....I was out with whatever they gave me. We got to see my doctor Friday morning and we decided to wait to Monday and let this little one bake a few more days.
I, however am to take it easy and keep my feet up and rear sitting down as much as possible. Which is not as easy as it sounds. So here is to my last few days of chillin on the couch or by the pool....I can have my feel propped up in both places....right???

38 Weeks
How Far Along: 38 Weeks 3 Days
How Big is Baby: Large.....Forget fruit or all that other stuff...I am guess this little joker is weighing in around 7lbs 5 oz and 20 -21 inches long
Weight Gain: I seem to be losing weight....not really sure. I was at 24.5 lbs this week. Trust me...I am still eating like its going out of style, however the garden has come in and we are eating lots of fresh veggies (minus the weakness I had with cookie dough) and lots of fruit!
Sleep: Sleeping okay, except for one night. I got up 9 times!!! If I am going to get up that many times I might as well have a newborn to keep me company (someone please remind me of that statement next week). Having some issues with my epilepsy this past week b/c of exhaustion, but hoping that will ease up.
Best moment this week: My girlfriends came and spent Saturday by the pool just relaxing and brought frozen dinners for after baby, then we all went out Saturday night for a girls dinner. Lots of fun and much needed!!!
Food
Cravings: Beginning to think I am a fish with the amount of water I need. I know I have drank at least 100oz today!!!
Foods I Can't Stand: Chocolate = heartburn from
Hell...even with the Zantac!!!
Movement: Slow rolls and sharp punches that hurt!!!
What I miss: Going up stairs without being out of breath, normal clothes, getting dressed and not being exhausted, and just being comfortable...but there is a light at the end of the tunnel
What I am looking forward to: The arrival of Baby Hutch
Milestones: Only 5 more days left!!!
Working on My Fitness: Spin Class twice a week and walking on the days I don't do spin.
Other: I haven't dilated any more since last week. Still having contractions sporadically, but nothing consistent. I am having a few issues with my epilepsy, but they have worked with my medicine and hoping that will help. I have also been taking it a little easier the past day or two because I had become overly exhausted.
My platelets were checked today at the end of my appointment and if they are near 100 or lower, I will take a steroid treatment over the weekend to boost them back up. As of right now I will be able to be awake during the csection.
We are still schedule for 11am on Monday morning!!! Can't believe its almost here...this pregnancy has flown by.

Nursery is Ready...well sorta of
I have the bones done and all the time consuming finished. The clothes are washed and the gear is packed and ready. However, I am doing something a little different from last time. Besides waiting until I was 37 weeks to start on it...ha, I picked a color pallet and bedding that would go either way and plan to make more girly or boyish with the accessories.
For a girl, I am leaning toward the glass/crystal/silver looking items with antiqued finsihes and for a boy I am going with more wood and bright color accents.
I am also doing a wall that will have the alphabet on it in different shapes and sizes. I have a different option for a boy or girl!!!
Boy Option....
Girl Option....similar to this

The alphabet wall will go above the Changing Table...so it should help out this lovely blank wall
I am really excited about how it will turn out. I really love the bedding and my teal....yes teal accent wall even without the accessories. Its completely different from what I did with Amelia's and a little modern. I only have a few pics but will update when we have a finished !!!
