Oooh the Zoo!!! and a few other things too...

On Saurday Amelia's buddy Douglas came over for lunch and a playdate.   They seriously look like they are enjoying themselves.

Douglas' mom say she is going to show him this picture in 15 years and remind him that he once cried when he sat by a girl!  

While outside Jeremy "borrowed" the neighbor's toy....He had way to much fun with it.

Sunday afternoon we had an open house so we headed to the zoo.  

Amelia and Daddy enjoyed petting the goats.

Of course, make sure you wash your hands!!!

Jeremy should have kept the washing station in mind.   This is his buddy the Lama. (sp)  He was such a sweet Daddy pushing Amelia, talking about the animals etc.   As he got up to Mr. Lama, he turned and looked at it and went to explain that the Lama will spit.   He no sooner got started with his sentence and Mr. Lama sprayed his face!!! 

I laughed for 10 minutes and nearly wet my pants!!!  I am laughing while I type!!!

When it was my turn to walk by Mr. Lama....I ran by him like a scared school girl!!!

We finished our trip to the zoo by visiting the LIONS!!! and a few other crazy animals.

These, however were my favorite.

800 miles in one day!!!

Can be tough a girls rear end....but it was all worth it!!!  I got to meet this little big guy

Cooper Joshua was born on Monday to Kalee and Josh.  He weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 8oz!!! 

 He has had to hang out in the NICU and and hospital a few extra days, but things are looking up.   He is having light therapy so I figured I needed to wear my shades to...we needed some bonding time.

Kalee is doing well.   I don't think I moved that well....well I still don't move that well!!!  Josh is stir crazy and they are both ready to take this precious one home!!!

Can wait to see the big guy again!!!

Fish, Farming, and Fun

Surprise Attack....yeah right

Remotes are hard to come by around here lately...someone keeps hiding them.

And if we you receive any strange phone call from us, we apologize. Its the same culprit who keeps stealing the remotes. 

We woke up this morning with our hair still giving us issues.   Our "horns" were showing this morning, along with our "cow kick" .   Serious bad hair day!

Amelia thought she was going to pull a "surpise attack" on Meow

But when you crawl like an elephant and giggle the entire time....

The element of surprise is gone and your "prey" escapes....

So it was off to her room to check out the traffic....

Then to the back door to check out the porch...not much happening.

So she decided on a little computer time.   Thank goodness she used Jeremy's...I don't have an IT department to come and fix mine.

After all that work, a little lap time with Daddy was the perfect way to end they day.

Survival Food

being sick...well it sucks.    Being sick as a grown up..sucks more.   I am however very lucky to have a wonderful husband who take cares of me (even when I am not the best nurse) and will make me homemade chicken noodle soup.  

However he has to go to work and I am left with my survival foods.   I picked these up the other day when I was picking up the families prescriptions of tamiflu for the second time this year.   I thought I might need something to eat and it needed to be something I could cook.  All hail every college kids staple food

Things are looking up.   I get to go back to work tomorrow.   Hopefully we are done with the yucky flu for a long time.

with all the yuckiness of the flu....someone is still just a cute as they can be!!!

An "Exceptional" Day

What an exceptional day to go to an Exceptional Chili Cook Off.  The weather could not have been nicer.  It was a great break from the frigid temperatures of late.  The 6th Annual Exceptional Foundation's Chili Cook Off was today.   Jeremy have been trying to go for the past few years and always seem to forget.   Not this year.  

The chili cook off benefit's the Exceptional Foundation which provides social and recreational opportunities for adults and children with disabilities.   I have seen first hand what a wonderful resource they are to some of my students.  

We loaded up and headed off to enjoy the festivities....along with at least a thousand other people.....

John and some of his buddies cook each year and we hung with them. 

Of course we couldn't come to a Chili Cook off and not sample all the favors!!!

I think Jeremy is pondering the greatness of chili, or the special ingredient, or something like that....

Back at the tent it never slowed....Think Waffle House on a Saturday Morning with the yelling and screaming and slinging orders...but with chili.

We even got to see our buddy Douglas, but he was not feeling the best.  

  In the end the guys did not win, but I still think their chili was the best!!!  The day was beautiful, the food was great, and the cause was exceptional.  

Nine Months, that is almost almost as much time as we spent wondering if we would have a little boy or a little girl and now Amelia is nine months old.   It has been a busy nine months.   She has grown, developed quite a bubbly little personality and is still changing every day.  

It seems on yesterday we were counting down to her arrival and patiently waiting.  Yeah, patiently is the word that best describe us.   And on June 3rd Priss arrived.   We hit the road and haven't slowed down a bit.   We took our first big trip at 3 weeks and the beach was soon to follow.  

Of Course Amelia felt the need to induct us into the new parents club quickly.   And in August I went back to work and Amelia started school.

With fall came football....poor child.  She learned War Eagle, Go Bucs, Hotty Totty and Go State...poor thing was confused.   We also snuck in some time for the park.

Next thing you know its Thanksgiving and then Christmas at the Zoo and our visit to Mississippi, and 2010!!!

We started the new year off with a few new items for our wardrobe.   A girl can never have to many of these or these.   January being crazy and busy, February was a months for first....Amelia got to play in her first real snow.   She got to see her mother throw her first real temper tantrum, picked out her first friend, and saw just w tough stuffed animals can be.

The first nine months have been wonderful...look forward to many, many, many more.
