Half Way Baby!!!

How Far Along:

20 Weeks....Half Way!!!

How Big is Baby:

About the size of a Cantaloupe.....

Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches

Weight Gain:

8 lbs ....really felt like I grew a lot  this week, but didn't put on any weight.

Maternity clothes:

Like I said, I really felt like I grew.  My project today was swapping out all my "skinny" non pregnant clothes with maternity pants and tops and going through my tops to see what would work.  My closet really is the size of a shoebox, so I can only fit so much.

Sleep:

Sleep is hit or miss.  Some night I sleep like a rock, others I am up every 2 hours.

Best moment this week:

Getting to actually see Baby kick.  He/She is moving up a storm.  Baby H keeps the same schedule Amelia did and is moving all day then settles down about the time I do.

Food Cravings:

Water....and really cold water.  Actually anything liquid that is cold.

Foods I Can't Stand:

The smell of fish the other day really turned my stomach...so I guess this week, not so much for fishy.

Movement:
Lots of movement this past week.  They are getting bigger and more controlled.  I can almost feel the turning and shifting, which still freaks me out and excites me at the same time

What I miss:

Climbing the stairs and not breathing like an asthmatic when I get to the top.

What I am looking forward to:

Really looking forward to Amelia being able to feel the baby kick and move.  She has really taken an interest.  She keeps taking all the ultrasound pictures and putting them in her room and in her photo album.

Milestones:

Half Way There!!!

Working on My Fitness:

Ran a total of 24 miles last week.   Still chugging along and not having any troubles.  I am noticing that I have slowed down from an average of 9:20 mpm to 10:20 to 11:00 depending on the day.  Umm and these spring time temps are not the best.  I am having to work on my breathing and adjust it.   Also got some really awesome compression capri's at Old Navy that really help support the belly and enjoying those this week.

The Growing Belly

I took this one myself...sorry about the excellent photography skills but this is almost 20 weeks....just growing away.

I did realize that is my butt and belly are in a strong competition to see what sticks out more...let's hope my belly wins this one!!!!

Average size: 6.0 inches, 8.5 oz, however at the ultrasound baby was weighing in at 9oz...

Weight Gain:

 8  lbs

Maternity clothes:

A few here and there.  Just depends on the day and how the tummy is feeling.  Went shopping for some new jeans, but didn't see any I liked or wanted to try.

Sleep:

Still propping up at the beginning, but sleeping much better.  It is marvelous!!!

Best moment this week:

Having an extra day off to spend with the family and going to see Beauty and the Beast with Amelia.   We stayed until her popcorn ran out!

Food Cravings:

Nothing in general.

Foods I Can't Stand: Deer Meat makes me want to VOMIT...end of story.

Movement:

Really picking up the pace.  Moving lots in the late evening when I sit down/slow down.  I can feel a knot where baby is which is really neat.

What I miss:

My favorite pair of jeans.....they were retired this past week.

What I am looking forward to:

Just enjoying day to day.

Milestones:

Almost half way!!!

Working on My Fitness:

Last week I ran Sunday, Monday and Tuesday...it was freezing Wednesday - Friday and then I did a 10k on Saturday.  I walked with a friend who is preggo on Sunday and we did almost 5 miles in a little over an hour.  My calves want to explode....someone explain that one.   Then ran on Monday a miserable 2 miles.

Chills and Hills

We are hanging around the house today...being lazy and its really, really hard for me!  The sick bug has bitten 2/3 of the household so I am nursing them back to health!  Okay who am I kidding....I am the worst nurse there is, but it is the thought that counts.

Jeremy came down with a nasty upper respiratory infection earlier this week along with an earache....he is holding down the bed.  His sidekick and BFF starting coughing Thursday and running a little fever.   Friday afternoon we went to see Dr. Cook (who she told could only give her two shots) and priss had bronchitis and some nasty wheezing.   Enter fog breathing machine.  We are currently on a 6 hour rotation.   I really am having flashbacks to nighttime feedings and getting up in the middle of the night with this schedule....maybe I should get used to it!!!

Amelia is doing fine...I think the treatments are only slightly cracking her out.   We are catching up on the back episodes of Mickey Mouse Club House and Thomas the Train.  She is being persuaded to sit still with her Pez dispenser....Remember those!!!  BEST TOY EVER!

I did get my rear up this morning and go do a 10K in Vicksburg.  Something about the name Chill in the Hills really did NOT clue me into the fact that it would be 6.2 miles of up and down.  I guess I have lived back in Mississippi long enough to forget they do have big hills some places.   I actually enjoyed running it....hills and all.  It reminded me of the Statue to Statue course....without the murderous last hill.  I ran it in 1:04 minutes.   I wasn't trying to beat any goals, just finish.   I was pretty happy with my time.   Oh!!! did I mention it was 32 degrees when we started out!!!

18 Weeks

Yes, I am sweaty and be glad you can't smell me!  I had just finished my run and Jeremy was able to take the pic.  My shirt was not cooperating....but oh well.   Here is Week 18 and my glorified beer gut!

How Big is Baby:
Size of the Average Sweet Potatoe

Currently the size of a average Onion. Average size: 5.1 inches, 5.9 oz. Skeleton is hardening, and fat is accumulating!

Weight Gain:

7 lbs

Maternity clothes:

I brought the box out yesterday and went through it.   Some things are still to big and I feel kinda slouchy in them and then some of my regular stuff is still fitting so an in between.  However at the rate that thing grew this weekend...I will be wearing all maternity soon

Sleep:

The body pillow is making a comeback.   I have had several rough nights where I am just uncomfortable so I am beginning to build the pillow fort!

Best moment this week:

Just enjoying the moment

Food Cravings:

At this particular moment and I liking homemade smoothies....its cold and has the fruit I want.  Plus if I imagine real hard I can trick myself into believing that its a big margarita or darquiri

Foods I Can't Stand: Deer Meat makes me want to VOMIT...end of story.

Movement:

Finally....I forgot how cool that felt.

What I miss:

Sleeping on my back....hince the pillow fort

What I am looking forward to:

We go Thursday for our ultra-sound.  Really excited to see how much the little booger has grown.

Milestones:

I have an official "bump" picture.  However, I had just finished running and I was sweating and gross and my shirt is all whackadoodle....but hey...we tried!

Working on My Fitness:

Running most everyday...if the weather cooperates.   I noticed today that my pace is slowing down...but I have expected that.

Update in Pictures - In No Particular Order....

Quick update as to what we have been up to....and I have pictures this time!!!!

Mollie has moved to Atlanta to do an internship for 10 weeks....She took Teddy with her, but left behind "Big Ugly".  Some is taking excellent care of him.   Mollie may have to pay a ransom or nominal fee to get him back when she returns......

Santa (or Mariah Carey) came and brought lots of goodies.   This awesome Minnie Mouse "biiiike" as my little southern belle has been pronouncing it.   WE have been tearing up the pavement, or parking lot.

Speaking of tearing up the pavement....someone has her very own "running shoes"  and she thinks she is hot stuff!!!  She has only wanted to wear these puppies with everything!!!

MoPo got her a nifty shopping cart or buggie as we call it and she has been shopping, shopping shopping.   The playdough was Santa....I think he lost his mind!!!

With the cooler temps we had to bundle up to hit the pavement....good thing she got this precious owl hat....

Seriously....she was snug as a bug while I pushed her little hiney around.

Apparently the wind became an issue because she built a "tent that moves" and was complete happy.  I never heard another peep outta her the entire run.

So that's it....our update in pictures.   School is back in session and we are slowly getting back into a routine.   I have only had to drag her out of bed once....or twice.

Weight Gain:
6 lbs

Maternity clothes:
Amzingly still haven't gotten the box out..or the belly band.  I have retired a few pair of my jeans and told them I WILL see you soon.  But at the rate this belly is growing I will be getting that box out.

Sleep:
Slept from 10:00 - 4:30 last night before I had to make my trip to the restroom!!!  I feel like a new person.  However I am creeping back in the use of more pillows.  I slept on an incline Monday night because of some serious heartburn/indigestion....YUCK

Best moment this week:
Feeling the baby move!!!  and being positive it wasn't gas!!!  Also being more aware of what is going on this time is so nice.

Food Cravings:
Ceral....and still sucking down the Gatoraid

Foods I Can't Stand: Deer Meat makes me want to VOMIT...end of story.

Movement:
Finally....I forgot how cool that felt.

What I miss:
Considering our Supper Club meets tonight I am still sticking with a tall, frosty, beer or a nice glass of wine…I sound like an alcoholic.   It is nice that I am not the only one knocked up!!!

What I am looking forward to:
Just enjoying this one.   Actually getting a Baby Bump and Amelia having a visual as to where the baby is.

Milestones:
Back to feeling good and "normal". I am starting to get a bump and doing the growing over night stuff. I am still chugging along with my running which is something I am proud of. I truly believe it is one of the main reasons I feel so much better this go round.

Working on My Fitness:
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and even threw in a Jillian action.   Going to get in some form of exercise even if it only 20 minutes at least 5 or 6 days a week.   I honestly feel so much better after a run or working out.
