Yummy Treat

Seriously...I can barely contained my excitement!!!!

So I've talked about going for awhile and really didn;t think it would ever actually happen, but in a short text conversation on Saturday, Mollie and I decided that we were going to see Dave Matthews in concert in Dallas.  

There is no turning back....the tickets are purchased and were shipped today.   I just book our hotel.  A swanky joint.  Apparently downtown Dallas is hurting for business and the local hotels are giving GREAT discounts!!! 

Let the countdown begin!!!

Three's Company

What a crew!!! Amelia, Grandy, and his dog Lady Cotton all hanging in the lazy boy.  We have been stopping by all summer and these three have formed a special bond.     Amelia LOVES lady and LOVES Grandy.   When we pull up she gets giddy.  She starts waving and "woofing"  Tonight after our stroll we dropped in and Amelia crawled/was pulled up in the chair.  Lady Cotton was a little jealous so she jumped up in the chair.   They did this over and over, the played fetch and shared a few M&M's.   Amelia is beyond rotten at Nina and Grandy's house...she is turning gane green.   But we wouldnt trade it for anything.  

Our New Crib

This is it...this is where we stay!  Plenty of room, close to family and friends and its a great deal....especially since our renter decided he needed to move out at the end of September.  SOOOO anyone in Birmingham still reading this and would like to lease, or know someone who would like to lease my house, let me know!

We really are enjoying being back after settling in.   We have had grandparents over for dinner, friends and even Woo.  Pops has been in the field.   Amelia, Jeremy and I go strolling every once in a while and it just in a great location.  We really couldn't have found a better place.

My Little Drama Mama

Someone kept kicking the back of the seat and her tv fell into her lap. Needless to say she was NOT happy. Drama mama...I think so!

Deer in the Headlights

So you would think I would not be nervous about starting a new job teaching kids since I have been doing for awhile now, but haha....WRONG.   Its like being a freshman, or sophomore, new kid on the block etc... good thing I started my day off today with 27 other sophomores who had more of a deer in the headlight look than I did.  

Actually my day went great.   I had my roll for homeroom...that was it.   And my day still went great!  I will be teaching Employment English and Career Prep and have anywhere from 3 - 11 kids per class.   I am looking forward to the year and the new experience this will be.  

I will return tomorrow....hopefully to have more of a schedule.  I sure know those 27 sophomores I have in homeroom will surely hope to have their schedules fixed and maybe together we all won;t have such that "deer in the headlight" look.

Soakin' Up Some Sun

HOLY COW!!!  What a busy two weeks it has been.  I kinda feel like those people you see in the movies after the storm has hit and they have that glazed look along with the frazzled appearance.   Yep, that about sums it up! 

Lets go back 13 days ago and make a mad dash to Birmingham to pack up the house.  Its all good because we FINALLY found a place over here.   Separate post on that soon.  We unpack on Saturday evening and Sunday and Jeremy is off to work out of town on Monday.   By Friday it somewhat looks like people live here. 

Saturday, as I stated we packed it up and headed to the beach.   We had a blast.  Well, Amelia and I did.  Jeremy caught the stomach bug that Amelia so graciously passed on to him.   Oh yes, I had my first experience with vomit.  That is all I need to say.  

Instead of rambling on about the trip, just enjoy the pictures.....

She loved the water...the sand, not so much.  We had to warm up to it

It took an overcast afternoon and a few sand toys she was ready for the sand.

Her Uncle Taylor taught her to grab the sand and pick it up and throw it behind her, like in the picture above.  See the results below.

The water was so calm.  

We took a break from the beach to ride the Funny Cars, aka a fancy gold cart.   She thought she was hot stuff riding around the island.   She would sing and talk to everyone. 

We stopped by the Beach Ball on our Funny Car ride. 

On our last day, she and Woo played in the water and looked for "more fish".

And Pops and Amelia just chilled in that water. 

Like I said, sand was as issue at first, but once she learned to negotiate it, she was gone. 

Of course, no beach trip is complete without a family photo.  Just wish someone would have given me a heads up on the crooked hat!
