Sneak Peak

Miss Amelia had her first photo shoot on Sunday. Amanda came out and took her newborn shots...what an adventure!!! Once she proved she was in charge by tee teeing on Mommy, twice! We opted for a route a little less risque. Amanda has ONE picture up on her blog....the girl is good and she is busy, but it is a great shot. Ameila is changing daily. Go and check it out. www.amandapairblog.com

Comfortable...

Amelia likes to be comfortable. Swaddling is not for her. She does her best Houdini act to escape when we swaddle her (well her arms at least). She also likes to scoot as far down as she can in the bed. For her to obtain maximum comfort level she must be in the following positions.
Arms straight down by her side and legs just hanging out.
Her other favorite is with her arms in what I call the "preacher man" pose.
Her feet must be comfy too, here she has scooted down so far that she was able to prop her feet on the end of the bassinet!!!
All the other pictures were of her asleep, I had to have one of her awake. She lasted maybe 10 minutes in the bouncy seat!

Home Sweet Home

We made it home Saturday evening around 7pm. We settled in, sorta and prepared for the first night. Things went somewhat smooth. Amelia slept a good bit, but was up for 3 hours just checking things out. Her Daddy was very kind and took the first shift. He let Mommy sleep. Sunday Granny D and Granny Flo came over and visited for the afternoon. We had a great time. By Sunday night she had adjusted and was sleeping at least 3-4 hours at a time.

Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

Miss Amelia

Is Beautiful, but maybe I am a little bias. She is doing great. She is already developing or continuing to develop her personality. It has been frustrating not being able to get around as much as I would like since, Miss Priss decided to turn and I had to have a c-section.

We were scheduled for an induction, but Amelia turned and was breech. We did not know this until 1:30ish. We discovered this after an ultrasound was done because I wasn't progressing after 6 hours on the full dose of pitocin. Talk about changing gears!!! The c-section was scheduled and at 4:51 Miss Amelia was born, rear end first!

We are scheduled to go home late Saturday. We cannot wait to get Amelia home and begin this new journey.
And yes, she has already started getting pink....and had her first official picture in her pink dress!!!

The proud Daddy....I am not sure He has quit smiling since Wednesday!

Kalee, Amanda, Mary Beth and me...and the newest addition!!!

This is my favorite picture of the Grandmothers....they are both taking it in, neither one wanting to touch. Granny D is on the left and Lulu on the right.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Its here....well almost, we will be inducing tomorrow morning at 5:00 AM. I have had issues with my blood platelets being low or below 100K the past few weeks. When I went in today, the date of induction depended on my platelet level. If it was low, I had to get a steroid shot to boost them back up, if they were above 100K then we would go ahead with the induction.
Now why the platelet level so important??? It effects whether or not I can have an epidural!!!! WE WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!!
My results came back in this afternoon and my platelets were at 101K!!!! We are good to go!!!
I will hopefully be able to update with pictures when we get a chance. Until then.....

June 1st?!?!?

So today is my official due date.....and no baby yet. As I was walking this morning I starting thinking of all the things that have due dates, and they are set in stone and we all abide by them (well most of us). Movies, have to have them back by a due date or late fees, library books, projects for grad school, due by a certain date or you don't pass, oh and milk....and food, it spoils if you do not use it by a certain.
This brings me my point....should I charge the doctor a late fee for not having this baby out by the due date? I am not going throw it our because it is spoiled, but I do foresee a few people doing that down the road!
Anyway, today is June 1st, still no baby and still waiting....very impatiently!
