What the #$@&!!!!

We went to doctor today for Bennett's 8 week check up and the dreaded shots.   We had lots to discussed today on the subject of tummy issues and I was really curious to see how big this guy had gotten!!!

Here are his stats....

Weight 12.1 lbs
Height 23 3/4 inches (tall boy!!!)

He has gained 5 lbs and grown 4 1/2 inches in two months!!!

On the tummy troubles front, we have decided to change his formula to Nutramingen.  It contains proteins that are already broken down and makes its easier for his tummy to digest.  It also has probiotics (???) that help with all the tummy stuff.   Excellent for Bennett....the downside, this stuff is expensive.   However, we have the best pediatrician EVER!!!.  She snagged us a weeks worth today, and pulled another 6 cans for us in case it worked and said she will keep it coming as long as it is working!!!  Gotta love a Doc who is looking out for you.

Now on to the "what the #$&@!!!"  Poor Bennett never saw it coming.  He got his first round of shots today.   I would say it hurt me more, but I am not sure.  He was pretty upset.   I had to blow in his face to get him to catch his breath.   Not a happy camper at all about this.   He is currently napping them off.   We will be spreading them out from now on.

He is meeting and exceeding all the monthly milestones.   He smiles and coos at you.  Loves to look around the room and will follow objects....especially his sister and mom.   I think he is afraid to take his eyes off his sister because he is not sure of what she is going to do!!!  He loves to laugh at his Daddy and Mom while on his changing table or eating.   And by far his favorite thing to watch is his ABC wall above his changing table.

He is growing and changing everyday and its really is hard to believe he is two months old already!!!

Frog Boy

So we have an slight issue with acid reflux and this seems to be the only position that someone is happy in.

Hoping the zantac and positioning after he eats will ease his little heart .

Keeping the Wheels On....

Its Sunday afternoon and Amelia is watching Cinderella.  Daddy and Bennett are napping and I just finished stuffing announcements...maybe I will get them out by October!  Things around here have morphed into warp speed and we are hanging on and doing our best to keep the wheels on.

Okay so its really not that bad, but wow....people are NOT kidding when they say your really learn some major parenting skills ( divide and conquer) when you have more than one!  I joke that I can have the house go from nuclear explosion to Martha Stewart presentable in 10 minutes flat now...come up with something (not saying it is the best thing) to eat in even less time, and sometimes do it with a screaming baby.   And give Jeremy props...he has got mad skills in the area too!!!

Besides adjusting to the new madness or normal, whatever you want to call it, we have had a few changes take place around here.  One of the biggest ones is for me.   I am going to get to stay home with my nuggets !!!  I am beyond excited, a little nervous, and ready for the challenges that it brings.  I think I am most nervous about learning to cook!!! But I think I can manage.

Bennett has been growing like a weed.  Big Man is already a whopper.  He is topping the scales at 10lbs...if not more by now.   I had to stop breastfeeding last week, little guy has developed a milk allergy and we had to put him on Soy Formula.   His rash...or blisters on his little rear immediately disappeared and his tummy was much happier.   However with the swap he has developed a little constipation, but that is normal when swapping to formula.   The doc said give him a warm bath and prune juice to get things moving.....so far so good.

Miss Priss will be leaving her old day this week.   I am really sad about this.  They have been wonderful and she has made great friends and has had wonderful teachers.   She will be starting a preschool program in August that is 5 days a week just in the morning.  She is excited about her new school, but I think she might miss her old friends.

I go back to the doc tomorrow for my 6 week check up and seriously cannot wait to be released.  The jogging stroller is calling my name.   I am a firm believer that exercising up until the last 3 days really helped me recover faster and helped get the weight back off.   I only have 3 pounds left to lose...however, there is still a good bit a firming and toning back up to do before things are back to where they are supposed to be (insert sarcastic laugh).

So that is it....Until next time......

Nursery Update

Nothing like finishing the nursery after the baby gets here....but that is what I or should I say my wonderful sister did.

Before we could finish saying " its a boy" she was saying "give me your card!"

We had talked about what to do for either gender so she was off.

Here is the final result ....and seriously everyone needs a sister a great as mine

By the way my "a" fell just before the pics...

1 Week

Boy, what a difference a week has made.   We are still alive and well in the Hutchinson household and working our way slowly back into our routine of the new normalcy.   Amelia is back from spending a week with grandparents (bless her heart she is back with mom and dad at bootcamp!) which we couldn't have been more thankful for, and Bennett is settling in nicely to a routine of eat, sleep, poop...repeat!

Honestly, it has been much easier adjusting to life with two kids than it was with the first one.   I think because I know what to expect.   I am also doing much better recovering from the c-section this time.   I think my insides were placed nicely back inside instead of shoved.

We have been so thankful for all the help this past week and the help that is still coming in.   I am still not able to drive until next Monday, so those little errands to pick up things and people volunteering have been wonderful.   We have also been showered with gifts for Bennett and food.

I have tried to snag a a few pictures of our first week home and how things are going, but failed miserably so here are just a few randoms I have

Leaving to go home

Not sure about the car seat at first...but loved it once he got in the car.

Amelia holding Bennett.   She keeps telling him "It's Okay"....hmmmm

Catching this little Booger with his eyes open is a rare occurrence....
