Well it really isn't any different now. Amelia is on her second trip to the beach this summer and already knows you have to go through the tunnel to get there.
To bad you couldn't see mom. She was smiling just as big.

We were extremely lucky. She scraped her chin and cheek pretty good and has a good case of road rash on her leg. She had a terrible knot on her forehead and a cut the was fairly wide, so we went to get it checked out.
They glued it back together and checked her head out. Never fear, she is still just as nutty as her parents and everything was fine.
I tweeted that our insurance company should be loving us right about now...surgery and stitches/glue in a week. Oh well, that what we pay them for.
We are now on the way to beach for a few days of relaxing. Injury free we hope....
We started with 10: five hens, five roosters, a spiffy cage from when I had ducks and anything else a chicken could want. Life was easy. They lived under the shade tree, were fed twice a day until....
Jeremy releases the chickens on Thursday night. They made it until Monday morning.
Apparently a neighborhood dog had been taunted by the free range chickens long enough and he struck. At first it was only two. I managed to run him off and didn't think much of it. I got the call from Brady at noon. "are you sure the dog only got two?"
Me: "Yeah, why?".
Brady: "Because there are bodies all in your yard. I think you only have TWO left".
Brady was right. The damn dog came back and murdered all our chickens except for the one who played dead and the other who climbed back up in the cage. From 10 to 2 in two hours.
So that's is what happened. I guess we will be buying our eggs at the grocery store, since we have two roosters.
