Nine Months....seriously!

So I really do understand where the time has gone....but it needs to slow down. I want to enjoy these sweet precious moments. Big Man continues to grow...understatement, and development such a goofy personality. Jeremy and I laughed that it looks like we are going to have two outgoing munchkins.

At his nine month checkup Bennett weighed in at 22.13....trust me, I lug him around, which is 80% and was 29 1/2 inches long. He only gained 3 lbs since his six month checkup, but grew two inches!!! His head, well the joker was in the 98th percentile. He will grow into it :).

He still eats baby food three times a day, but we have started working on transitioning him to real food with some soft veggies and fruits. He is also a giant fan of ice cream...don't judge, man likes his ice cream! He loves juice and thinks he is the sippy cup king.

He has started to pull up in his crib so we have had to lower it. He rolls across the room to get what he wants or has started this side roll, pull, side roll, pull motion in some strange version of an army crawl...whatever gets him there.

Chunky wears 12 month clothing basically for length and size 4 diapers.

Benster is talking up a storm. He can say dada, mama, nana, and baba for bottle. He also does the crazy growling low voice that sounds like Darth Vader. It cracks me up. He loves his sister to talk and play with him and gets the hiccups from laughing at her so hard.

It is truly an adventure with this kiddo and he is such a joy. So really times does need to slow a little.

8 Months

Bennett turned 8 months on Monday. I honestly cannot believe how fast this year is flying by. The Big Man is changing everyday and continues to develop such a personality. He laughs at his sister and her silly antics and will become giddy when you goof off with him.

He loves being outside and playing in the dirt....typical boy. We have been enjoying any bit of warm weather and sunshine we can take advantage of here lately. We purchased a swing for the swing set and he loves to swing while Amelia plays. We go on wagon rides as well and those are just the best thing ever.

Bennett is working on his crawling, more or less just scooting and not really going anywhere....but he is slowly figuring out the concept. He is able to catch himself when sitting in all directions except for backwards and still gets upset when he falls backwards. Along with Amelia, he Loves the cat Kris Kringle, and enjoys torturing him with her. His favorite toys right now are bouncy balls and anything the he can chew on and beat and bang with.

His last height was 28 1/2 inches and he weighted 21 lbs. He has actually slimmed up some so I am curious to see what he weights when we go for our 9 months check up in March.

He is babbling tons, but still no mama or dada, he has said kitty kitty....seriously!!! And says it all the time!! He is taking four 8 oz bottles a day and eats solid foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Big Man is cutting his two top teeth and it is a process with him. It took about a month for the bottom two to come in so I am super pumped about these. Hopefully they will be in soon. We have been dosing with oral gel and Tylenol.

I seriously cannot get over that it has been eight months. He has changed and grown so much. In no time it will be time for his birthday....wow!!!

Seven Months

What a busy month of milestones and memories. Maybe that is why I haven't posted in a month...oops. So the big man is now sitting all on his own and loves to sit and play with all his new toys he got for Christmas.

He will scoot his legs up when on his tummy but not going anywhere yet. He bounces up and down like a mad man in his exersaucer and will rock his hips back and forth to scoot it across the floor.

He is still a healthy fellow. He is 28 inches long and weighs 20 lbs. He is eating three times a day and we dropped a daytime bottle and are down to four 6oz bottles each day. He loves all fruits and recently discovered blueberries and thinks those are awesome.

He did give us a scare in his 7 month birthday. Mind you I said he can rock/buck his hips and scoot his exersaucer across the room... Well he will do that in your lap as well. Jeremy had him in his lap and he bucked without warning and started to flip off the chair. When he went to catch him he caught his feet and he flipped on his head and landed on the floor head first. He screamed and cried, but Jeremy loaded him to take him to the ER. Amelia and I were out running errands, so we met them there. On the way to ER he started passing out, so Jeremy called 911 and met an ambulance at a fire station in the next town. Bennett was conscious by the time he got to fire station and the ambulance arrived. After getting Children's the did a CT of his head and spine to check for any fracture or bleeds and everything was FINE!!! He just has a huge knot on his head. So little man is a tough guy. If this is any indication of what life is like with boys... I am going to need xanex.... And a really strong prescription

So beside scaring the poop out of us, big man is talking and jabbering away. He is such a joy and growing like a weed.

Point Five

Six Months, Half a Year, Holy Cow....what happened.   I will tell you what happened.   Someone screamed and cried for 4.5 of those six months...okay maybe both of us did, but we pulled through and things are looking up.

We made it to a major milestone and things are sailing a lot smoother around here.   The Big Man is changing daily.   He FINALLY....repeat FINALLY rolled his lazy little behind over.   I was beginning to think he was going to sit up, before EVER rolling over.   He had a busy week two weeks ago.   He started rolling, I know, I was beginning to worry about the man, but then again, why would he.  He could see everything, however once he figured it out there has been no stopping him.   He also cut his first tooth on the bottom.   Thank you, thank you, thank you, that it came in.   I felt like I was cutting it with him,   AND he can sit up for a few seconds on his own....then he face plants and gets all in a tizzy and we have to start all over after some snuggles.

So he is still my super scheduler, eating every 3.5 to 4 hours.   He LOVES his bottle and will get giddy and giggle when he sees it, UNLESS he sees it and you don't get it to him in time, then he starts this hyperventilating laugh.   It's sad, but funny.   He is such a smiley man and a FLIRT!!!  He loves the ladies, especially the blondes.   He also has a things for boobs...seriously.   Think Barbie....tall, blonde, and chesty...that is his type and he can pick them out.   He has enjoyed the outings and shopping trips lately, because he gets his flirt on big time.

My muscle man....I mean, both my kids have muscle arms.   I guess all those arms exercises transcend to them...no fair.   We have had to weed out food that really break out his eczema - sweet peas, carrots and peaches are a no go.   Everything else is fine.   No scented lotions or body washes.   Poor guy.

Some one has the sweetest personality....just took a while for it develop (it was rough for a while).   He giggles and smiles all the time, will talk and sing in the car with his sister.   I really wonder what he is telling her.   I can only imagine the conversations that will take place between them someday.... He is working waving bye bye, and can mumble mmmmmmm, when he sees food.   I have two definite talkers.   If he sees someone he recognizes he immediate goes to talking to them.  It is so precious.

He still loves the outside and a good walk/run which is a good thing for me.   Above is from helping put up outside Christmas decorations.   He hung out for two hours just chillin and supervising.   Big Man likes to take things in and is my little observer.   A great little snuggler who will bury his head in
your shoulder and give you hugs.

Oh....My...how the journey to this point has been a challenge.   It has not been the easiest, but I can honestly say it has made the sweet moments now that much better!

Endless Pursuit for the Perfect Christmas Card Picture Take 1

There is a beautiful ginko tree that I walk/run/waddle by each day that has the most georgous golden yellow leaves and I told myself last year....everyday, grab Amelia and get her picture.  Did I??  NO!!!  Well this year I told everyone that I walk/run with to not let me forget.   So yesterday morning, just the right amount of leaves have fallen and just the right amount of leaves were still on the ground and the light was just right and even though I was out numbered and Amelia hadn't had a nap, and I had to wake Bennett up from his I decided to take them and try!!!

So this is where I tell you that Amelia acted like a terrible three year old, kicking and screaming, and she wouldn't smile, or Bennett threw a fit and cried the entire time, or the wind blew to hard or mom had a breakdown because she realized that she was just being a MORON, trying to do this without help, but I won't, because none of that happened!!!

Amelia played and laughed the entire time.  Bennett loved the outside...duh...and giggled, smiled and watched his sister, the sun set just perfect and the wild wind calmed down, mom did not have breakdown, because I figured I could come back the next day, it was literally 30 seconds from the house so it was all good.   I seriously was able to take 200 pictures in 25 minutes.   I went for quantity hoping to get a few good ones.....So these below are a few of the ones we got.   They may or may not show up on a a Christmas card.   I am just glad to have some good shots of the two nuggets together.

5 Months

The Big Man, The Benster, Bennett turned 5 months old on Sunday.  Wow, five months....he really  has been growing and changing lately.   The stats....He is 26 1/2 inches long and weighs 17lbs 12 oz...  I only know the exact weight because we were at the doctor this morning for what I though was a terrible rash....turns out he has eczema.   Bless this poor little guy.   He is me reincarnate.   I am truly being paid back in all shapes and forms.

He is cutting his bottom two teeth, hence the hands in mouth.  He chews on them constantly and is a drooling machine.  I can feel them and his gums are so inflamed.   I expect to see a tooth any day now.

He is sleeping like a champ, eating like a mad man, and is so much happier.   He smiles and giggles majority of the time.   He is pulling up from the sitting position, but topples on over, will attempt to roll, but then realizes it and kicks his hips back to stop himself ?!?!  Hard headed child!!    He is fascinated by his hands and still loves his ABC wall in his room.   He loves to have someone sing to him (bless him that he doesn't know how bad his mom sounds) and will sing along with you.   The outside is one of his favorite places to be and is loving his exersauser.

Most of his baby hair has fallen out except for the top, so he sport a really tall mohawk or the best comb over EVER.   The new hair is much lighter, and I think it will be dark blonde like his sisters.  He is very wide eyed and always looking....my little observer.   When I think he is asleep in the car, he is just look out the window at the world going by.   He loves his food, all his food, squash, sweet peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, apples, pears, bananas and even prunes.   I am still making it.   I bought $7 work of veggies at the farmer's market and made enough to last us 3-4 weeks and this guys eats !!!

It's a good thing since his formula cost $35 a can!!! I tried switching him back....ha no go, jokes on you!!!  I knew he had a touch of eczema, but after the switch, the following resulted!!!  Talk about making mom feel bad!

This was on Saturday....just a few spots....

And this was this morning....not a happy camper.   So not only does he have tummy troubles like I did as a baby, he has his mothers wonderful skin =(.   Poor guy.  So we are all stocked with lotions and washes to combat this, b/c I know it is zero fun dealing with skin issue and cold weather.

He continues to change daily and is truly a blessing to this family.   I cannot imagine life without him, even if he occasionally like to serenade us at 12:30 AM with a song.

And We Made It....

We made it through the month of October and are still trucking...sheesh...this week itself has been crazy !!!

Monday we packed it up and headed to Oxford to visit Mollie...the entire gang!!  We ate lunch at Ajax on the square and then visited Square Books Junior, Amelia's request and then stopped at Hollis' Sweet Tooth.   I truly think the Hallelujah Chorus went off when Amelia walked in.   Girlfriend, stopped in her tracks and just stared around and whispered "whoa"

We had trouble convincing her that these were "real" M&M's because of of all the colors.

Once she figured out that they were she decided on the "dark purple, light purple and pink!"  Really what more could a girl ask for...chocolate in her favorite colors???

Big Man just hung out while we shopped...he didn't protest to much as long as we let him check out a few ladies ever once in a while.   Seriously, this guy likes his ladies....such a flirt!

And just for a little random October happening...someone got some snuggle time with Otis...or it should be the other way around.   Otis got some inside and snuggle time.   He was a happy camper.

We hit up HOOT (Haunting of Olde Towne) with our friends Mary Virginia and her Mom and Dad and had a blast on the bounce houses, carnival games and hayride.   This was a last minute thing, but so glad we did it!!!  The girls had a blast.  However this picture does not convey that.   We decided they were not happy with the wait for the hayride, or were seriously discussing something

After letting my plants go this summer...hmm can't imagine why I didn't get a chance to water those suckers....I am proud of my "purple theme" pots.  Hopefully they will survive.   Who knows I may be able to keep plants alive after all.

Amelia had Trunk or Treat at School on Tuesday.   This was new for me.   I think I did well decorating my car, but some people "really" get into this.   It didn't matter, this kiddos could care less...just as long as I had candy to give them!!!

They are all lines up and ready to go....She is the Cheerleader!!! After spending Monday at Ole Miss, she wanted to wear her uniform.

We carved Pumpkins last Friday night, but before we carved them, someone had them play dress up....this totally cracked me up...especially the cheer pumpkin!!!

And we finally made it to Trick or Treating.   We are fortunate to live in a small town where we are able to go house to house still (which is dying off slowly and it makes me sad) to trick or treat.

My mermaid, with purple hair and "fancy make-up"

Best shot I got of her all night....I really think she has been training because she ran for what I know is a mile, then walked really fast for the next mile.   She crashed I had a piggy back for the last little bit.   Needless to say we both had Halloween hangover this morning.

Oh and where is the Big Man's costume....He had it on and I totally forgot to get a picture.   He was a skeleton or Lazy Bones....I will post the next time he wears it.

And finally, Amelia made the discovery of all discoveries today....Tootsie Pops have chocolate in the center....If only I could have recorded the excited when she found it!!!

So that's it....we made it through October.   November starts, and things pick up even more pace, but that is completely okay.   We love this time of year.
